One of the Cooroy Ri-con Christmas Tree stars will shine extra bright this year for a man who had a caring heart and a deep love for his family and community, Ron Scott.
A retired pharmacist, Ron passed away in October this year and his wife Irene said, “A star on the tree is a fitting tribute for Ron as he was my shining star and I deeply miss him.”
Ron re-established the pharmacy in Eumundi after a previous closure and was involved in the building of the shopping complex where the pharmacy is still located today under new ownership. He was a hardworking, dedicated man who was passionate about his profession and the health of his community and customers and always loved helping people.
Ron had a soft spot for animals and it wasn’t uncommon for the local pooches to be found in the Pharmacy enjoying the air conditioning and a treat from the cookie jar.
Ron had been a member of the Queen Alexander Masonic Lodge at Cooroy and also the Cooroy Probus Club. He enjoyed travelling and gardening in his spare time. Ron was a father, grand-father and great-grandfather to 20 children! He was a caring, loving family man who was always happy with a witty sense of humour and full of jokes.
At this time of year, we often feel the loss of loved ones just that little bit more. Sponsor a Star aims to keep those memories burning just a little brighter. To “Sponsor a Star” costs $200 and there is only one spot left. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or to find out more about Christmas in Cooroy visit www.christmasincooroy.com.au.
