Commencing the week of Monday 18 January 2016, the following traffic switches will occur at the Cooroy southern interchange and surrounding local roads, subject to weather and construction conditions.
• The existing southbound on-ramp at Myall Street will close, and traffic will be diverted via a temporary on-ramp at the Cooroy southern interchange connection road. Traffic for Nandroya Road will also be diverted in both directions via a side track from this on-ramp. These traffic changes will involve lane and shoulder closures and stop/go traffic control.
• Bruce Highway traffic will switch on to the newly constructed northbound carriageway (one lane in each direction)
between the Cooroy southern interchange and the Mary River Road overpass. This traffic switch is necessary to facilitate construction of the new southbound highway lanes.
• FROM SUNDAY 31ST JANUARY: The southbound off-ramp (Exit 230) will be temporarily closed until mid-2016. During this closure, motorists will have to exit the highway southbound for Cooroy via the Cooroy northern interchange (Exit 237) at POMONA OR south at EUMUNDI
Night works will be required intermittently throughout January and February 2016 between the Cooroy southern
interchange and Mary River Road overpass to facilitate the traffic switches, including asphalting, line marking and barrier placement.
Single lane closures and stop/go traffic control may be in place between 5pm and 6am.
Motorists are encouraged to follow the instructions of traffic controllers and road signs. For further information about the Bruce Highway – Cooroy to Curra (Section A: Cooroy southern interchange to Sankeys Road) project, freecall 1800 180 566
