Minutes of the last meeting on 9 February are on the website: www.cooroy.com.au

Actions arising from the minutes:  

Cooroy RV Park: Danielle had a lengthy phone conversation with Doug Clayton (Cooroy Laundromat). Doug’s concerns are that council are not marketing park to its potential. Danielle to write a letter to council.

  1. Treasurer’s Report:

Report presented – approx $12,109.53 in cheque account and $25,506.63 in Term Deposit. Profit for year April 15 to Feb 16 $2,726.89

Attended:

  • Noosa Council Grants Program-Noosa Leisure Centre – Danielle attended (refer to other business below for update)
  • CCC e–newsletter workshop – cancelled

Forthcoming:

  • Noosa Connects at the J – 16 March – Danielle and Andy attending will have Kurui’s, App cards, Mint Cubes, networking night flyers and ordered a chamber pop up banner
  • Sunshine Coast Chamber Alliance – 31 March – not attending
  • Tourism Noosa Networking – 9 March at XXXX Summer Beach Bar Noosa Festival of Surfing, Main Beach – not attending

Mail In:    Noosa District Landcare Intro to Botanical Drawing Invitation (grant we supported)

Queensland State Govt Nominate for Queensland Great Award – decided not to do anything

Mail Out:         Community Benefit Fund Grant for Christmas Decorations – $8,426

Safer Street Funding Grant for CCTV – $ 208,000

  • Christmas in Cooroy – Proposal for marketing and event management – Lynda to email out Firefly proposal for Executive to vote.
  1. Other Business
  • Council Grants – Operational (Danielle to check if we are eligible) and festive season (CIC – Danielle will do application) and Project Grant (Danielle to investigate if we could do the Cooroy Radio project)
  • Sasha has resigned as she is going to UK. Included a thank you in last e-newsletter. Under our constitution we can appoint someone to the role until AGM or as it isn’t one of the required roles under our constitution (President, Secretary, Treasurer) it can also stay vacant also. Given AGM is only a few months away decided to put it in newsletter and ask people to consider coming on executive.
  • Chamber Networking Night 11 April, Andy to let Exec members know our roles on the night
  • Chamber Newsletters will now be sent out twice a month
  • Andy spoke about a “why leave town” gift card proposal, Andy to find out more and present a business plan at the next meeting
