- Fusion still need to return marquees, discussion took place regarding the lending of marquees. Chamber will have a document that lenders sign stating that marquees will be replaced if damaged.
- A day to be confirmed to sort and tidy chamber items in David Campbell’s Shed
- Volunteers at Bloomhill Cancer suggested more signage regarding the public toilets is needed. Danielle suggested we also lobby council re more public toilets in Cooroy as they are not adequate
- Australian Body Art Carnival – following on from Danielle’s email and positive replies from executive, Danielle is in the process of transferring the event to Cooroy, under the auspice of Cooroy Chamber of Commerce with Danielle/Firefly Solutions to run the event. The plan is to work with other community organisations to produce the event eg Rotary, Cooroy Future Group, etc. First stage is to survey artists to find out ideal time of year as without artists there is no event (eg Mother’s Day Weekend is not ideal because we will lose volunteers on the Sunday and artists also as they want to spend time with their mothers and/or children, Summer to hot and models sweat of paint, Winter too cold, might be good to have it fall on a Cooroy Originals weekend so we have some entertainment lined up, etc). Also, need to look at funding options such as grants and sponsorships. This event has in the past been approximately $100,000 event, Danielle plans to bring it back to a grass roots event and the budget can be trimmed substantially to reflect that. Firefly Solutions will do the initial work in kind as a sponsorship until some funding is secured and Firefly Solutions will also give an undertaking to manage the budget so the event is not run at a loss financially to the Chamber (i.e. there will be event management and marketing fees to come in future but these will not be more than the event can afford to pay) – so no real risk for Chamber.
Meeting closed at: 1.15pm
