Brisbane riff queen Sabrina Lawrie will be bringing her band The Hunting Party to connect with the local community as part of the Cooroy Originals Series on May 28th. The event will see Cooroy Hinterland Community come to life for the family-friendly, all ages event held in the Apex Park.
Sabrina has recently returned from some explosive shows in Melbourne and Geelong performing with bands from Spain, Sweden and Indonesia and is riding the wave on the back of her recent music video release of the single ‘No Rules’ from her forthcoming album ‘Hush The Mountain’.
Sabrina overcame a near fatal fall last year where she broke her back and wrist and was left with a back full of fancy metal work. She has risen above all the odds and through music she is showing great strength by sharing the discoveries she encountered through her healing experience, which changed her life in a very profound way.
“I get a real kick out of travelling to towns and cities where I am not a local and getting down to the local level and connecting with the individuals in the community. It’s always a rejuvenating experience to discover new people and places and I’m very excited to be bringing the band up to Noosa for the Cooroy Originals, they are doing a really special service to the Sunshine community by curating this event”, says Sabrina.
The day will see buskers, food vans, market stalls, face painting, henna art and even some live art coming together to colour the event.
“We’ll be pulling out a few old favourites on the day for the crowd, including a tune by Billy Thorpe we recently learnt for a special Aussie event we played, you’ll have to come down to find out which one!”
The new album ‘Hush The Mountain’ will be released through Pig City Records in June and can be pre purchased now through their website www.pigcityrecords.com
The main stage kicks into gear at 1pm with Sunshine Coast emerging talent Brooke Revell, followed by folk-indie songstress Lola Sola and fellow Sunny locals Town Music. Sabrina Lawrie & The Hunting Party perform at 4pm.
