One of the most important parts of running a business is maintaining a large network of useful contacts. Finding and maintaining contacts while you’re busy running your own business may seem insurmountable, but the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce has the solution.
The Cooroy Chamber of Commerce is offering a Networking Night which is open to anyone wishing to attend. The Networking Night focuses on making sure attendees meet as many people as possible, and never the same person twice. Each person presents a short pitch to their group, after which they’ll hear other business people’s short pitches before being rotated to a new group.
“We use a system called Network Engine which was developed by one of our members, Our Town Apps for our networking nights. It’s now used by all sorts of organisations for networking meetings. It’s a fantastic tool that ensures no one is hidden in the shadows or left hugging their drink because they are too embarrassed to introduce themselves to a group. We always receive great feedback about these nights from attendees – new contacts, new business and even new friends result!” said Cooroy Chamber of Commerce President, Danielle Taylor.
Both members of the Chamber and non-members are invited and encouraged to attend this event so that a vast array of businesses from all across the region are present. The Cooroy Chamber of Commerce will even send you a cheat sheet on how to prepare the best possible pitch so that you get the most out of your night. But the event isn’t just about pitching your business, it’s a great opportunity to talk to other business owners in a relaxed, social environment. Finger food is provided and a cash bar is available.
The Speed Networking Night will be held on 6 October from 5:45pm at the Cooroy State School Hall, on Elm Street. Bookings are essential as you need to be put into the system in advance to make it all work on the night!
