Due to damage to the market site from recent heavy rain and Saturday’s forecast of additional rain, the 2nd Cooroy Farmers & Artisans Market on 21 October has been cancelled.
“It was disappointing to have to cancel our 2nd market but everyone has been very supportive of our decision and we know 4 November is going to be even bigger and better with over 60 stalls booked in and some great local entertainment,” said Danielle Taylor, one of the market organisers.
The 4 November will have even more fantastic produce, food and artisan stalls from around the region plus support from local stars, Phippsy and Jamison Kehl to provide entertainment.
Andrew Phipps, or Phippsy as he is more well known, will be cooking up a storm with local produce from 10am to 11am. Former host of shows like Hooked on Water and Getaway, Phippsy is also known as an author of cook books, chef, fishing expert and most recently for his new Noosa Junction restaurant, ZZ Taps.
Fantastic Cooroy musician, Jamison Kehl will be back for her second market performance from 8am. Sixteen-year-old Jamison was one of 10 young women from Queensland to take part in the inaugural Big Sky Girl Mentoring Program this year and has since been performing around the Coast, recently also releasing her first single, Limerence.
At each market there is also a stall space donated to a community group to utilise as a fundraiser and/or to raise awareness. There are two community groups for 4 November. The first is Christmas in Cooroy with their volunteers selling raffle tickets to raise funds for the fantastic free event they put on in December that has free rides, street parade and more! The second is a fundraiser by Bella, an 8 year old Visionary Wildlife Warrior.
Cooroy Farmers & Artisans Markets are on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of each month to support local growers and artists and highlight the diversity of produce and talent in our region.
