The 2017 Australian Body Art Festival was a ‘Wonderland’ of colour, activity and amazing art and it was all captured by 20 photographers whose work will be on display at the Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre from 3 May to 14 May.
“The festival is a huge attraction for photographers and as part of the festival we have a photographic competition which is limited to 20 photographers who get an access all areas pass to capture all the fun of the two-day festival,” said event manager, Danielle Taylor.
“The living artworks were spectacular in themselves, but the photographers have captured some truly beautiful photos.”
The official opening and award ceremony for the body art photographic competition and exhibition is on Saturday 6 May at 1pm at Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre in Maple Street, Cooroy. It’s a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.
The colourful community arts event drew approximately 7000 spectators to watch some of the nation’s best body artists, face painters, visual artists and wearable art designers create and parade their masterpieces. The 2017 Australian Body Art Festival was a new festival to Cooroy and it was run as a community event by a team of over 100 volunteers funded through donations, crowd funding and support from local businesses.
If you missed the fun or just want to relive it, make sure you come to the photo exhibition of the photographic competitors at the Butter Factory Arts Centre from 3 May to 16 May with the official launch and prize giving ceremony on Saturday 6 May at 1pm. Photos will also be available for purchase.
